Curo Background

Curo Compensation was founded in January 2010. We welcomed our first enterprise clients in 2011. Our founders are comprised of technology and compensation experts. Our team has years of practical experience in managing large and complex annual compensation reviews and managing successful enterprise software firms. Our software is the emerging comp solution of choice amongst leading Talent Management technology providers. This product has been selected, on an exclusive basis, by Deltek (formerly HRsmart), Page Up, TalentGuard, Payfactors and Open Symmetry. The company has offices in Edinburgh, London, Boston, Toronto, Houston, Jacksonville & Ottawa.

Curo’s software solutions include CuroGPG (Gender pay gap reporting system – UK focused), CuroLite (compensation management for small to mid-size organizations) and CuroEnterprise, (our enterprise compensation management solution).

Over 80 leading companies form our client base. Through these organization we support people across 140 countries and in more than 130 currencies. Our strong client community all work with us (and each other at Client forums) to help evolve our compensation management software solutions.

Gerry, O’Neill

Founder & CEO, Curo Compensation

Dr Gerry O’Neill has worked in the HR Industry for 20 years, he was one of the founders of Curo Compensation, a market leading Reward Management solution, and has been CEO of the company since February 2012. Gerry was previously CEO at Vebnet, a provider of a SaaS based solution for the management and administration of flexible benefits and online Total Reward Statements. Vebnet was established in July 2000 and quickly became the market leader in this sector and had over 150 clients in the globally; it was acquired by Standard Life in October 2008. Prior to Vebnet he spent 9 years a senior manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland and was responsible for, amongst a number of initiatives, the Supermarket JV with Tesco (TESCO Personal Finance) and setting up the UK’s first online Mortgage Origination Company which was sold to Bristol & West Building Society. Gerry holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics.

Ruth Thomas

Industry Principal, Curo Compensation

Ruth Thomas is a co-founder and Senior Consultant at Curo Compensation. She is Curo’s SME and works with our prospects and clients to ensure they optimize their reward strategy execution utilising our best of breed Total Compensation Management tools. Her interest in technology’s ability to transform traditional approaches to reward helps to drive our innovative product strategy. With over 25 years of Global HR and reward management experience she has international expertise in the management of compensation processes and the design of pay and benefit structures, salary progression systems and management incentive plans. Her corporate experience includes Lloyds TSB Group, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Dow Jones Group and Credit Suisse.

Martin Band

CTO

Following offshore engineering with Schlumberger and several years with Boston Consulting Group, Martin spent six years in senior roles in Oracle. In 2003 he began to work with SME software and SaaS companies. He has held senior roles including CEO/MD and Head of Product and has run Development. He has consulted to or conducted technical due diligence for Private Equity on over 20 technology organisations. Martin’s particular specialty is software product management. He holds a B.Sc.(Engineering) from Queens University in Canada and an MBA from INSEAD.

Lorna A. Daly

Head of Professional Services, Curo Compensation

Lorna Daly is Head of Professional Services at Curo Compensation. She is a senior professional with a proven record of results in taking business ideas from inception, through launch and into growth in the computer software industry. With over 20 years of Global HR Software and Customer Success experience she has significant experience in managing and guiding customer success initiatives internationally. Her recognized ability in the development of new international teams, projects and strategic planning has allowed her to work with many prospects and clients to ensure they have an exceptional experience during their implementation and gain ongoing ROI from their investments. Her corporate experience includes Bell Canada, Telecom Canada, Halogen Software. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Education from Ottawa University, both in Ottawa, Canada.

Angela Williams

Non-Executive Chairman

Angela Williams joined CuroCompensation as Non-Executive Director in February 2017 and was appointed Chair in December 2017. Angela, who is currently Group People Director at Which? The Consumers Association also works as a freelance HR consultant for a range of large corporate clients.

Angela is a very experienced Executive in both Global and Group HR Director commercial and operational roles having worked for Sodexo globally, British Gas/Centrica, Land Securities (FTSE 30) The Walt Disney Company, BH Blackwell, Exxon Mobil and as Chief Operating Officer for internet start-up QXL.ricardo.

Angela has worked as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of Remuneration Committees for over 10 years and has won awards for her work on diversity and inclusion, change and transformation and brand impact.
